Take a Hike

Mount Philo State Park is a popular destination among locals and tourists alike. Known for its versatility, visitors can choose to drive up State Park Road or hike the House Rock trail to enjoy the beautiful Lake Champlain, Green Mountain and Adirondack Mountain views. The park invites many hikers, campers, picnic goers and nature watchers to experience the outdoors. Lesser known in the area is the Charlotte Park and Wildlife Refuge. With 3.25 miles of trails for walking, hiking, skiing and equestrian use, 95 acres of farmland, and 24 acres of meadows, there is plenty to explore!

Enjoy the Lake

Who doesn’t love a summer afternoon on the lake? Charlotte is home to one of three ferry routes to New York. The ride to Essex, NY is about 30 minutes and is open year-round, weather permitting. In the fall, the views of foliage are worth the trip. Just north of the ferry access is Charlotte Town Beach. Visitors can enjoy the tennis courts, playgrounds, ball fields, disc golf, water sports and, of course, relaxing on the shore!

A Berry Haven

Charlotte boasts many farms and farm stands, notably the Charlotte Berry Farm and Adam’s Berry Farm. Popular summer destinations for berry pickers, both farms grow and sell a variety of fresh fruit and fruit products, including blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, jams, ice cream, frozen treats. honey, baked goods and so much more. Nothing beats the summer heat like a fresh, organic blueberry popsicle! June through August, visit either farm to pick your favorite locally grown fruit.
