It’s February! You know what that means cold, cold, and colder temperatures. Don’t be deterred because we got you covered. Here are some of the local events happening in the community of Burlington this month. If you are starting to get cabin fever, or just want some fun activities to enjoy, here is what is going on.
Church Street Marketplace Winter Lighting

Get outside and start the month off right. Watch the light switch being turned on at Church Street Marketplace. With the new lighting installations the glowing atmosphere will brighten up your heart during this bitterly cold time of year. This is a great event for the family and couples. Afterwards, you can enjoy the lights in a window seat of Leunig’s Bistro or cozy up with a local cup of Joe at Uncommon Grounds.

Don’t miss out on the most popular outdoor event this winter at Hotel Vermont’s annual Ice Bar this Friday and Saturday. For the 6th year in a row, adults 21 years and older can enjoy the festivities of winter in a cheerful and lively atmosphere. Place: Burlington Waterfront Park

The Penguin Plunge has become a staple for Vermont’s most widely recognized winter events. Join the hundreds of locals in this event by jumping into the icy cold lakes, with all proceeds going to the Special Olympics. The fundraising is based on a peer-to-peer basis and sponsorships are available as well for local businesses. It’s a perfect team building experience for families, schools, and businesses alike.

Place: Sheraton Burlington
Time: 12-4pm and 6-10pm.
Go wild at this year’s indoor Brewfest being held at the Sheraton in Burlington. This is an event you won’t want to miss, with over 75 different Vermont craft beers to choose from. That’s not including the wine, ciders, and cocktails. There will also be live music, food, and party games to keep everyone entertained. The ticket prices are only $25-$39 a pop.

The Brrrlington Winter Bash is a fun activity just for the kids, that won’t cost you a penny! The festivities are endless ranging from face painting, snowshoeing, dancing, arts and crafts, youth yoga, and so much more. This is a great way to get your kids outdoors and having some fun! The whole town will be there so don’t miss out.
