    The apple season in New England is in full swing.  Locals are traveling to their favorite orchards to grab bushels of different varieties. With the cold weather approaching, make sure you are using fresh fruit while you can.  Read below for some of our favorite recipes. They not only taste delicious but will leave your home smelling like autumn!

    Apple Dump Cake

    Want an apple dessert without the hassle?  This Spiced Dump Cake is the recipe for you.  Start by chopping and peeling your apples, then mixing them with brown sugar and cinnamon. Move the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle over the top with dry cake mix.   Lastly, drizzle melted butter over the cake mix and pop in the oven! 

    Ingredients: Apples of your choice, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, Yellow Cake Mix, Butter, and Pecans(optional)

    Slow Cooker Applesauce

    If you are like us, you cherish your slow cooker!  This applesauce recipe is as easy as adding the ingredients and setting the desired cooking time.  While the slow cooker does it’s thing, spend time checking off other tasks in your busy day!  Once the time is up, mash or blend the apples and viola, applesauce!

    Honey Apple Cheddar and Bacon Panini

    This isn’t your average grilled cheese!  Add the classic butter to the outside of the bread, spread the apple butter on the inside.  Begin to layer on the cheeses, bacon, and thinly sliced apples.  Before adding to the pan or panini press, add honey and thyme – a special touch!  Once you’ve finished cooking, Tieghan Gerard, the creator of this recipe from her Half-Baked Harvest platform, insists you drizzle honey and thyme over the top!

    Apple “Nachos”

    Fruit nachos?!  This recipe is perfect for an afternoon snack that the kids can help with! For allergies or picky eaters, prep the toppings ahead of time so everyone can make their own.  Take sliced apples and lay them on a plate, take your desired toppings and begin drizzling or sprinkling on top.   Once your toppings are complete, you can enjoy!

    Hot Spiced Apple Cider
