How to Make Your Guests Feel Right at Home - Guest Room Essentials

Have a lot of house guests? Let your hospitality shine by making sure you have the following guest room essentials that will help you create a warm and inviting atmosphere that helps your guests feel more than welcome. Thanks to Kim via Today's Creative Blog these helpful tips (& Free Printables!) will help make this your guests feel at home.

Welcome your guests with a sentimental note or a special greeting. Be creative and make your own framed note, or leave a short letter letting them knwo where they will find everything they need during their stay!

This one is a no brainer, make sure the bedding is fresh and clean! This doesnt necessarily mean you need to go out and buy new bedding, use what you have, as long as it is comfortable. And always make sure to stow extra blankets in the closet and make sure your guest has plenty of pillows.

Make sure your guests have plenty of space, clear out the closet and the dresser, its ok to use some of the space for storage but make sure there is at least the top drawer and a place for your guests to hang their items in the closet.

Next think about the #1 question you get from guests - "Whats your WiFi password?" Most of us run off of our technology these days so set up a little charging station and place in plain sight your WiFi paswoord like on a nice notepad or frame a print out to add as a decor piece.

Whether you have a guest bath or not its a nice touch to supply a basket of toiletries for your guest. These are so easy to find whether you travel a lot and have your very own collection of hotel toiletries or you can always run to your local pharmacy and visit the travel isle for pint sized toiletires. Kim supplies a great list:

  • Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Toothpaste, Extra Toothbrushes, Floss & Mouth Wash
  • Blow Dryer
  • Feminine Hygiene Products
  • Body & Face Lotion
  • Shower Gel or A Fresh Bar of Soap
  • Disposable Razors
  • Hair Ties
  • Face Cleanser
  • Chapstick
  • Pain Reliever, Tums, Sleep Aid
  • Earplugs

On the bedside table think about leaving some reading material, whether it be their favorite magazine, or a funny book or a current bestseller!

Every guest loves some snacks, leave out some bottled water and a selection of snacks that you know your guests will enjoy!

Fresh flowers always brighten up a room, pick a colorful bouqet that compliments the decor of your guest room.

Your guests will feel right at home by adding these touches, and without a doubt your friends & family will have a very enjoyable stay!
